Abstract
Using a sociological analysis, this paper attempts to uncover the true monster in Jordan Peele’s Us. Beginning with an explanation of key terms and a film recap, a semiotic analysis will unveil. By revealing both the intended and unintended ideologies presented in the film, a better understanding of alienation, anomie, deviance, bureaucracy, class, race, and functionalism will be found. Media teaches society many things, this paper is meant to unmask what Jordan Peele is attempting to teach us.
