Abstract

A literary critique of the books Dos mujeres, by Sara Levi Calderón, and Amora, by Rosamaría Roffiel is presented. The article looks at the impact the titles have had on lesbian fiction in Mexico. According to the author, both books address the struggle of being a lesbian woman within a highly patriarchal culture. Details relating to the novels' plot lines are compared and contrasted along with the critical reception of the two novels.
