Abstract
Over the last few years, I have come to learn and understand the many wonderful benefits of mindfulness practices. This knowledge has all been self-taught. I am currently enrolled in my graduate research class and working on my research project. In this research, I am investigating where social workers come to learn mindfulness and the impact it has on their workplace relationships with both their co-workers and clients. I have already conducted my literature review and it supports my hypothesis that mindfulness offers many benefits for both the social worker and their client. The only option for a course in mindfulness is through the School of Social Work at UW Seattle. Yet, that option is not an easy one for a student at UWT. My hope is to share the benefits of mindfulness with as many people as possible and to have UWT recognize the benefits and potentially offer a course on mindfulness.
