Abstract
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a common concern among those leaving the military. Plenty of veterans decide to utilize their education benefits and go to college to better their career goals. This paper will address the topics of cognitive effects, campus support, and external support. Veteran students take longer than their civilian counterparts in completing their educational goals, but with the proper support are successful. In this paper, there is discussion of lack of support, and how we can support current/future students in completing their education. The biggest concerns raised from this study are the small sample size and lack of funding. Many of the programs that could help require some funding for support. Many of the other papers discuss the issue of sample sizes being too small and not enough to make a big impact. The consensus would be to recreate these small studies on a wider scale.
